Aaron A. Barleycorn
Field Manager, Senior Researcher
Aaron Barleycorn, B.S., is the Field Manager and a Senior Researcher employed by the Chicago Zoological Society and based at Mote Marine Laboratory as part of the Sarasota Dolphin Research Program (SDRP). He began working with dolphins in 1999 with the Eckerd College Dolphin Project. After graduation from Eckerd in 2001, he worked in a pediatric immunology lab, but spent most of his free time volunteering with the SDRP. In 2003, he was hired as a full time staff member, and has been with the program ever since. Aaron is involved in most phases of SDRP field work, including: photo ID surveys, biopsy darting, dolphin rescues, health assessments, tagging and tracking, international conservation trips, and training visiting scientists and interns.
