Health Assessments

The SDRP is unique because the team has conducted health assessments on wild dolphins since the 1980s.

The health assessment results provide benchmark data for the protection of dolphins worldwide.

Each dolphin is examined by a team of veterinarians and scientists before being released. In 2009, data and samples from dolphin health assessments supported 29 different medical and research projects.

The health assessment results provide benchmark data for the protection of dolphins worldwide.

Research into the effects of contaminants on dolphins is helping us understand how human pollutants are impacting dolphin health and reproduction.
