When do female dolphins begin to have babies?

Dolphins may first give birth when they are 6-13 years old, but most often they are about 8 years old.  The baby is born tail-first after a 12-month gestation period. Most babies are born in the Spring – Summer months. Two dolphins continued to have babies until they were 48 years of age.
